Introduction &kunit; is a simple program to convert various units. &kunit; currently converts the following categories: acceleration angle angular acceleration angular velocity area bits and bytes capacitance charge colors current energy force illuminance inductance length luminance magnetic flux mass (or weight) power pressure Shoe Sizes SI prefixes specific heat temperature thermal conductivity time torque velocity viscosity (dynamic) viscosity (kinematic) voltage volume Installation How to obtain KUnit &kunit; 0.5 can be obtained from: http://www.netmeister.org/apps/kunit-0.5.tar.gz Older versions can be downloaded from here Requirements In order to successfully compile and use &kunit;, you need the following programs and libraries which are available on most platforms as distribution packages and thereby can be installed easily. Required: g++ 2.7.2/g++ 2.8.1/egcs 1.1 (or compatible), available at http://www.gnu.org GNU make (or compatible), available at http://www.gnu.org autoconf 2.12, available at http://www.gnu.org automake 1.2, available at http://www.gnu.org Qt 2.2.x or higher, available at http://www.troll.no Compilation and Installation In order to compile and install &kunit; on your system, type the following in the base directory of the &kunit; distribution: % make % su % make install Should you run into problems please report them to the the author at Jan Schaumann Using KUnit Straight forward: Run kunit. Choose the category for your units. Choose the unit to convert from and the unit to convert to. Enter the number to convert into the appropriate text-field. Happily read the result from the appropriate text-field.
